Document Forensics
Overview
Document Forensics adds an advanced layer of control to Dotfile’s document review automation. It analyzes uploaded documents for signs of tampering, forgery, and authenticity, complementing our AI/OCR-driven data extraction and validation.
Document Forensics checks documents over 500 ways for signs of fraud:
- Template farms, Gen AI, Document reuse
- Metadata changes
- Pixel structure anomalies
- Digital manipulation detection
- Authenticity check of known digital PDFs
Configuration
Enable Document Forensicsf or native document types:
- Go to Settings > Dotfile AI.
- Enable Document Forensics for the desired document types
Enable Document Forensicsf for custom document types:
- Go to Settings > Checks > Documents.
- Select the affected document type
- Enable Document Forensics
Usage
Automatic Forensic Analysis
- When a document is uploaded, Dotfile runs forensic checks in addition to standard analysis.
- The result is shown in the Console as part of the document’s Analysis Result
Impact on Automation
- If any forensics indicator flags a document as high risk, Dotfile overrides automatic approval and routes the check for manual review.
- This ensures only documents assessed as trustworthy are auto-approved.
Reviewing Results
- In the Console, forensic results and indicators are visible within the document analysis view.
- Analysts can see which specific aspects triggered risk or trust signals for full transparency.
